[Salon] Noam Chomsky on Russia Ukraine Conflict & Linguistics [PODCAST] - YouTube

Unlike the typical political commentator, Prof. Chomsky possesses an intellect great (in a non-Trumpite sense) enough to understand the “cognitive domain” of human affairs, which war and politics are sub-sets of. To understand the Ukrainian/Russia/US war, one needs an intellect expansive enough to understand “collective consciousness” of peoples/countries, and therefore, “collective memory,” empathy, intersubjectivity, and related matters of the human mind. Or what Edmund Husserl, the Jewish German founder of “Phenomenology,” called the “science of consciousness,” and of which his student Hannah Arendt was intelligent enough to apply to the study of “political theory,” a “critical approach" to the study of Politics.” 

Clausewitz did the same to the study of war, as what Peter Paret called a proto-Husserlianism. Or what I would name today, Clausewitz was a founder of "Critical War Studies.” Don’t tell the Republicans: they’ll demand both author’s books be removed from libraries, including the military academies, I can readily imagine. Given how contradictory Clausewitz is to “Republican War Theory” (for that, see Harry Summers’s parody of Clausewitz, the misnamed “On Strategy,” virtually co-written with extreme neocon Norman Podhoretz), that doesn’t take a stretch of the imagination (let me apply that to the right-wing as a whole, to then include Democrats of the “Militarist wing” of the Democrats, standing shoulder to shoulder with Republican militarists, with all having imbibed as “Ideological Mother’s Milk,” the militaritic writings of the "Conservative Movement" founders, as they came out of the CIA in the 1950s). How does one understand the essence of any of the so-called social sciences, if one has no comprehension of how the human mind works? Well, Comsky, Arendt, Husserl, do. And so do those who make it a purpose in life to “manipulate” society’s consciousness, as “Cognitive Warfare.” Which due to our collective ignorance of, is “child’s play,” for DOD, CIA, Mossad, Ministry of Strategic Affairs, and the many Israeli “private” intelligence firms which Donald Trump and his minions were connected to.
